What Is A Baby Rhinoplasty?

Plastic surgery trends can be all over the place. From dramatic changes to something more subtle, your plastic surgery outcome can be nearly anything you desire. Lately, a push for more natural-looking surgery has become very popular. With many patients opting to look like themselves, only better, instead of, say, a model or actress.

The desire for more natural, subtle-looking results even applies to the number one plastic surgery procedure in the country- the rhinoplasty. Commonly referred to as a "nose job," rhinoplasties are:

But now, a new procedure known as a 'baby rhinoplasty' garners attention. Much like traditional rhinoplasties, the baby rhinoplasty changes the nose's appearance and can be done with other nasal procedures, such as a tipoplasty or a septoplasty.

The baby rhinoplasty is a lot less invasive than the rhinoplasty, too. It can be done in less time, and the healing time is usually much shorter. After about a week, Dr. Mitchell can remove the tape and splints from your nose, and you can even start wearing makeup or concealer again.

Baby rhinoplasty is an excellent option for anyone who wants just a subtle change in the appearance of the nose without an invasive procedure like full-fledged rhinoplasty. Remember, however, that to undergo a baby rhinoplasty, you must have realistic goals for your surgical outcome. This means that the results you want may not be possible with the baby version of a rhinoplasty, and you may need to undergo a regular rhinoplasty to achieve the look you want.
